Features Overview

  • Applies seven different Macro-Block sizes for improved motion compensation.
  • Adopts a superior motion compensation methodology for higher flexibility and efficiency over conventional legacy MPEG CODECs.
  • Specifies motion vectors to 1/4 pixel accuracy.
  • Employs improved de-blocking filter.
  • Achieves a high process speed by using integer based algorithms, outperforming the legacy CODEC based on Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT).
  • Supports spatial prediction within each frame.
  • Optionally implements Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Encoding
  • (CABAC) to achieve even higher levels of compression.

Benefits Overview

  • Optimized for performance facilitating faster process speed
  • Easily customizable
  • Highly flexible programs allow a shorter time to market
  • No open source code provides a secure program
  • Modular self-diagnostic programs are easier to support and result in a competitive cost of ownership
Motion Compensated Video

Introduction

Full Motion is a fully compliant implementation of the MPEG-4 AVC H.264 standard.  It is designed and built for software developers, integrators and all other digital video enterprises. Full Motion exceeds the performance levels of existing products based on legacy methodologies such as MPEG-2 and previous revisions of MPEG-4. Full Motion will augment existing video processing applications and provide leading software companies with advanced capabilities in the digital video industry.

Description

Full Motion is a "ground-up" implementation of the H.264 standard and is highly optimized for performance and quality. Because of this rare development approach, it can be used in a multi-processor, multi-threaded environment, is highly portable and configurable and will run on any platform with any OS that has a C compiler.  Full Motion saves storage and bandwidth resources, incorporates constant internal checks to achieve the best possible quality and saves processor power and heat dissipation.  Full Motion can be used at any resolution: QCIF, CIF, D1, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and any frame rate.  Full Motion is modular in its internal and external interfacing giving it greater flexibility for customization while offering an ideal resource for rapid integration and deployment of this high quality video CODEC.

Products

In order to meet various customer requirements, Full Motion is offered at different levels of flexibility:

Single User Toolkit

Full Motion Single User Toolkit  is designed to be used to compress live video, but may be used for recorded video also.  This version is designed for use with Video for Windows and is installed through a dongle attached to the PC or laptop via USB port. Full Motion Single User Toolkit may be obtained through Databolts' E-commerce.

 API/SDK

Full Motion API/SDK allows for rapid application development of custom applications using Databolts' software components. This API/SDK is simple to integrate, provides access to low level functions and encoder settings and is licensed with an optional technical support service. For more information and pricing, please send an email to sales@databolts.com.

DSP Optimized CODEC

DSP Optimized CODEC is available as code optimized for integration with a Digital Signal Processor (DSP). This code is portable to any DSP.  Access is given to all encoder functions.  Algorithms may be swapped with DSP primitives.  The encoder and decoder are optimized for speed.  Again, by contacting our sales department at sales@databolts.com, one of our sales engineers would be pleased to assist you.

Video for Windows Filters

Video for Windows for Full Motion have been designed and built based on the Video for Windows architecture. These filters may be used in any VFW aware application, have an intuitive user interface, allow settings to be saved between sessions, and allow application developers to rapidly implement Full Motion without the learning curve required by the API/SDK.
